1. Acceptance of Terms & Conditions

Payment and usage of this report is an explicit acceptance of the terms and conditions mentioned below. IDL may revise these terms at any time. Please access our website www.diamondlab.org for the current version of these Terms & Conditions.

2. Service Description & Limitations

a. This report is an expert gemological opinion intended to provide an objective assessment of the gemological characteristics of the article at the time of examination based on current gemological methodology and is for informational purposes only. This report is not a guarantee, valuation, or appraisal unless specifically mentioned in the report type as an ‘Appraisal Report’.

b. IDL uses advanced gemological equipment to analyze and grade articles. Reports describe characteristics based on equipments used and processes deemed appropriate.

c. Grading is done as per 10X magnification and is subjective. IDL uses its expert judgment and industry-standard practices but acknowledges the inherent subjectivity in gem grading and opinions may differ due to lighting, techniques, equipment, and gemologist expertise. Grading of mounted stones for color and clarity in jewelry is limited to viewable areas and may differ significantly from unmounted stones. Stone carat weights in jewelry are calculated from proportions and are estimates. Treatment details are described on the website.

d. Technology and scientific understanding is constantly evolving. While IDL utilizes advanced techniques to detect treatments and enhancements, some subtle or advanced treatments & enhancements may not be detectable with current technology. IDL detects origin and discloses known treatments, simulants, and synthetics at the time of examination as specified by the report date, these may change at a later date.

3. Limitation of Liability

a. IDL, its employees, and agents are not liable for any loss, damage, or expense arising from errors or omissions in the report, even if due to negligence or fault, except for fraud, willful misconduct, or gross negligence.

b. IDL is not liable for special or consequential damages for any errors, omissions caused due to the use of the report, even if advised of the possibility of such damages and even if caused by acts of others.

c. In no event will IDL’s liability exceed the amount paid for the report or extent permitted by applicable UAE law, regardless of the legal basis of the claim- contract, negligence, tort, etc.

4. Glossary & Jurisdiction

a.  IDL means International Diamond Laboratories FZCO.

b. Report means this document in its entirety.

c. Article means the gem or jewel documented in this report.

d. Service means the actions performed by IDL, its employees and agents to create this report.

e. Jurisdiction courts for any legal disputes is Dubai, UAE.
